Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Summary of Third Quarter Activities
Gillies Trucking
3931 Newton Road
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Sasson:
The purpose of this letter is to provide an update on activities at the Gillies Trucking yard in
Stockton.
Upgradient Environmental Consultants prepared a cost estimate to prepare a Corrective Action
Plan and submitted it to the State UST Cleanup Fund in late September for pre-approval. A copy .
of the letter that accompanied the estimate is enclosed. At this time, we have not received a
response and have therefore not begun work on the plan. It would be helpful if you could contact
Mel Jacobo and request him to review the estimate and respond to the request.
Upgradient also attempted to obtain permission to perform the third quarter groundwater
monitoring. Due to unresolved issues between Gillies Trucking and the neighbor, Carmen
Barbot, permission to enter the Barbot property has not yet been received. Monitoring was due in
September but was not performed or authorized by Mr. Gillies. If and when we receive approval
to monitor the groundwater, Upgradient will notify you before performing the work.
Should you have questions, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
Victor B.
