Upgradien#Environmental C(Asultants
October 20, 1999
Mr. Jeffrey Wong, REHS
PHS/EHD
P. O. Box 2001
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Revised Work Plan for Aquifer Testing
Gillies Trucking
3931 Newton Road
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Wong:
Enclosed you will find an expanded and revised version of the Work Plan that we
submitted for your review in August. As you recently requested, we have revised the plan
to more fully describe the proposed test objectives and procedures. We have also revised
the plan to include a"step test", which will immediately precede the main test and provide
information about the optimum pumping rate for the main test. We recently performed a
similar test at a site in Yuba County, and information and graphs that illustrate the success
of that test are included in this work plan.
The information from these tests will be used to calculate the transmissivity and related
parameters of the aquifer. This information will in turn aid in predicting the rate of
groundwater flow and migration oPthe contaminants, deciding whether groundwater
remediation is warranted, evaluating potential remedial methods, designing a suitable
remedial system, and predicting the rate of contaminant removal. Finally, the water
samples obtained will aid in determining how the removed water will be treated and/or
disposed of.
Please call our office if you have questions or additional requests.
Sincerely,
41
Clyde L. Hebbron
Senior Project Geologist
enclosure _
Stockton: P.O.
