RE00.11VED <br /> Motor Guard Corporation <br /> FEB 0 8 2016 Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan and Emergency Procedures <br /> Revised January 27, 2016 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> FEA TH DmI ARTYFl\IT <br /> Step 4 — CONTAIN <br /> The Emergency Coordinator shall be responsible for the containment of the emergency to the <br /> extent that it is safe to do so. He/she shall have the authority to shut down any processes that <br /> may contribute to the emergency or impede prompt mitigation of the emergency. <br /> Spills may be contained by shutting valves, righting containers and applying sorbents, dams or <br /> other approved methods. <br /> Small fires may be extinguished with the appropriate equipment in a safe manner. Containers <br /> of hazardous waste or other materials threatened by the fire or spill may be removed to a safe <br /> location. <br /> Step 5 — MONITOR <br /> During the time that the emergency is being treated and the facility has been shut down, the <br /> Emergency coordinator shall monitor equipment for leaks, pressure buildup, gas generation, <br /> ruptures in valves, pipes or other equipment. The E.C. shall take steps to see that any <br /> additional hazards are contended with. <br /> Step 6 — CLEAN-UP <br /> Immediately after the emergency, the Emergency Coordinator shall provide for treating, storing <br /> or disposing of recovered waste, contaminated soil or surface water, or any other material that <br /> results from the hazardous waste emergency. These wastes shall be disposed of in <br /> accordance with state and local regulations. <br /> The E.C. shall ensure that no waste incompatible with the released material shall be <br /> transferred, treated, stored or disposed of until the clean-up is completed. In addition, the E.C. <br /> shall see that all emergency response equipment listed in this plan is cleaned and fit for its <br /> intended use before operations are resumed in the affected area. <br /> The E.C. shall notify the State OES and appropriate local authorities that the facility is in <br /> compliance before resuming operations. <br /> Step 7 — REPORT <br /> The Emergency Coordinator shall prepare a report of the incident and record the same using <br /> the attached form. All sections are to be completed. The report shall be submitted to the State <br /> and County Emergency Services Departments within 15 days of the incident. <br /> 7 <br />
