In addition, the <br /> individual or individuals authorizing the continued investigation <br /> shall provide identification with respect to their title of <br /> authority. <br /> Include in all proposals and reports a site specific Health and <br /> Safety Plan describing personal protection for all field <br /> personnel ( see 29 CFR 1910. 120 of ©SHA regulations) . <br /> This protection should include the use of personal <br /> protective equipment such as coveralls, gloves, steel toe <br /> and shank shoes or boots ( leather or chemical resistant <br /> material ) safety glasses, and hard hats. Precautions should <br /> be taken to prevent excessive inhalation of/or exposure to <br /> contaminated soils. <br /> In addition any treatment of contaminated soil is to be approved <br /> by the Department of Health Services, Alternative Technology <br /> Division, prior to implementation. <br /> We recommend soil samples to ' be taken every five feet alongthe <br /> sidewalls and bottom of the excavated soil should be field screen <br /> for lab analysis. <br /> The San Joaquin County PHS/EHD will continue to review proposals <br /> for the purpose of compliance to local ordinance requirements for <br /> Permits for certain activities such as borings, monitoring <br /> wells/piezometers, vapor probe surveys, extraction systems, etc. <br /> If you have any questions, contact Eleanor Ratliff, REHS, at <br /> (209) 468-3450. <br /> Jog i Kha, M.
