By
letter dated 3 November 2014, the EHD had directed the submittal of a work plan to collect soil
samples in the area of the former waste oil tank for laboratory analysis for designated chemical
constituents to comply with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional
Board) requirements for waste oil tank removals.
In the Work Plan, Cardno proposes:
• Preparing a site specific Environmental Health and Safety Plan for instructing field
personnel prior to commencing fieldwork;
• Notifying the EHD and Underground Service Alert at least twenty-four hours prior to the
onset of fieldwork;
• Clearing for utilities by Underground Service Alert prior to advancing the one borehole;
• Advancing one soil boring, B14, using a hand auger to approximately ten feet below
surface grade (bsg), adjacent to the 'former used-oil tank' at the location illustrated on
Plate 2 of the Work Plan;
• Collecting soil samples at a minimum of one per foot to total depth for lithologic
evaluation;
