i
APPENDIX H
MAINTENANCE INTERVALS AND PARAMETERS FOR THE UVB
1. Maintenance Intervals:
• Quarterly
' 2. Parameters to check:
' A Measure and record the height of the fresh air inlet above top of UVB-HDPE well
head flange to see if rise or fall of floating (only) UVB system matches rise and -
fall of static water level.
iB Direction of rotation of blower fan should match the arrow on the fan housing - if
it does not, have an electrician rewire the blower
C Fan belt on blower for wear, replace or tighten as necessary (refer to blower
specifications Section 5 for specifics, Appendix C)
' D Water content in moisture knock outremove all water after stripping,( PP g, if
necessary) To strip water in moisture knock-out, open hose bib to allow for a
minimum of 1 hour ambient air to be drawn into knock out
E Cables holding packer(s) check for fraying and replace as necessary
F Cables for tightness and twisting, if necessary deflate and reset packer to make
' cables tight or untwist (inflatable packer only)
G Air pressure in packer, add air as necessary, maintain 3 0-3 5 bars (inflatable
' packer only) ----if the packer seal is good and the influent velocity is not within
the range of section 3 12 1 2 C, the operator should leave the system running, and
contact EA and IEG4 or a designated representative
' H Air hose(s) for wear replace as necessary (inflatable packer only)
' I Observe vacuum gauge readings, adjust sieve plate up or down, or open/close
blower butterfly valve accordingly (2/5 blower only) to maintain desired negative
pressure (negative pressure range 45 to 65 millibar or± 10% of original setting)
' T Buoyancy of UVB if applicable, UVB floating system should be able to move
Y Y PP g Y
' freely up or down If system is not floating and the cables and air lines are not
tangled, contact EA and TEG®for assistance
K Bearings on blower motor (yearly only) replace as necessary - see Section 5 in
Blower Specifications, Appendix C
' WP61 73942 wP1096 TX 2 1
