There is a wide variety oPeves, hand pads, sleeves, and wnstleor protection from <br /> vanous hazardous situations. Protective devices should be selected to fit the job. For <br /> example, some gloves are designed to protect against specific chemical hazards. CEMI <br /> recommends that employees become familiar with the limitations of the protective equipment <br /> being used. <br /> As is true with all protective equipment, a failure of a pair of gloves, or any other hand and <br /> arm protection, may lead to an in=gsed exposure to the substance, take the time to find the <br /> right gloves for the material you are worldng with. <br /> 1 Selection <br /> Employee performing Environmental Services shall wear gloves that will protect <br /> against the expected contaminant. While it is not possible to predict exactly what will <br /> be <br /> encountered, it is possible to predict the general class of contaminants which might be <br /> present.
