* First Concem4 he first aid depends upon the degree9the burn <br /> First Degree Burns. <br /> 1. Immerse as soon as possible in cold water to relieve the pain. <br /> 2. Cover lightly with a sterile bandage. <br /> 3. DO NOT apply greasy ointments or butter. <br /> Second Degree Burns- <br /> 1 Cut away loose clothing. <br /> 2. If the burn is mile, immerse in cold water. <br /> 3. Apply a clean, moist, sterile cloth. <br /> 4. DO NOT disturb blisters or apply ointment. <br /> 5. Treat for shock. <br /> Third Degree Burne <br /> 1. DO NOT REMOVE CLOTHING OF APPLY WET BANDAGES <br /> 2. Keep the victim quiet and lying down. <br /> 3. Elevate the burned area if possible. <br /> 4. Treat the victim for shock. <br /> B OTHER BURNS <br />. Sunburn <br /> * First Concern - relieve the pain <br /> 1. Use a non-medicated, mild cream. <br /> 2. If blisters occur, get medical treatment. <br /> Chgmical <br /> * Furst Concern - Dilute and/or rinse away the chemical. <br /> 1. Flood the affected area with lukewarm water (if water is compatible with the <br /> chemical) for at least 5-10 minutes. <br /> 2. Cover with a sterile dressing. <br /> 3. Get medical help as soon as possible. <br /> 4 DO NOT attempt to neutralize acid or caustic materials. <br /> 4). Slock (caused by bleeding, heart stoppage, falls, and numerous other injunes) <br /> * First concern - begin treatment for shock <br /> A. Sign of shock. <br /> B-9 <br />
