Lodi South Area
Draft Remedial Investigation Report - 3 - 2/20/04
2. On Page 9, Section 2.5.3 A reference is made to the sampling of existing groundwater
monitoring wells SA-1 through SA-4. The well installation logs, if available should be
provided with the other well installation logs in Appendix E. A table of past sampling
results for monitoring wells SA-1 through SA-4 should be included.
3. On Page 15, Section 6.1: reference is made here to calculations for seepage velocity
being presented in Table 3 (Physical, Chemical, and Hydraulic Data and Calculations).
However, Table 3 only presents values for various physical parameters which were likely
used in calculating seepage velocity for the Lodi South Area. It is stated that moisture
content and bulk density data is included in Appendix A (Sewer Video Report), however
this data actually included in Appendix B. In addition, when discussing hydraulic
gradients, a reference is made to Figure 6 and Section 3.3. The reference should be
corrected as there is no Section 3.3 in the Draft RI Report. The Draft RI Report should be
revised to include the actual calculations used to obtain the seepage values presented in
the report.
4. Figure 7 presents the groundwater analytical results for the Lodi South Area. The figure
should be revised to reflect the fact that the groundwater analytical data presented on the
figure is from samples collected from the shallow groundwater.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 464-4712, or by email at
austind@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov.
DUNCAN AUSTIN, P.E.
Water Resources Control Engineer
cc: Deems Padgett, TRC, Concord
Mr. Mike Vivas, DTSC, Sacramento
Harlin Knoll, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Hugo Kevorkian, BSK&Associates, Fresno
Richard Prima, Lodi Public Works Dept., Lodi
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
