8 Vreeland Road Scientists Engineers
Florham Park, New Jersey 07932 BEM Telephone:(201)3b1.0078
SYSTEMS, INC. Facsimile:(201)301.0149
11 September 1996 "r
No.20125CD BE 1359 `SSP
Mr. Steven Sasson
Case Manager
Public Health Services
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division
304 E.Uteber Avenue,3rd Floor
Stockton,California 95201-0388
Dear Mr. Sasson:
BEM Systems, Inc. (BEM) is pleased to submit its Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Work Plan Addendum
(Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Plan [SAP]) to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division(SJCEHD);BEM will forward Figures 1 and 2 of the SAP by facsimile on Thursday 12 September 1996.
BEM is conducting this additional work as part of an environmental due diligence screening prior to property transfer.
Timing is critical on this project and your expedited review will be important to the timely transfer of the property.
Given that the decision to acquire the property must be made quickly, BEM will conduct a groundwater screening
program prior to submission of the soil investigation report to the SJCEHD for technical review and comments;BEM will
submit the results of the groundwater screening as an addendum to the soil investigation report. Prior approval from the
SCJEHD to proceed with the groundwater screening program should not be necessary in this case since this investigation
was not initiated by the SCJEHD. In addition, please be advised that any applicable well permit applications and
associated fees will be forwarded under separate cover by BEM's sub-consultant Malcolm-Pirnie, Inc. of Sacramento,
California
As we are currently scheduled to begin sampling on or before Monday 16 September 1996,Mr.Cameron Duran,BEM's
Managing Chemist, will be contacting you to ensure that all information is in order before sampling begins. If you have
questions or require any further information, please call me at(201)-301-0078,Ext. 118 or Mr.Duran directly at(201)-
301-0078,Ext. 126.
Sincerely,
BEM SYSTEMS,INC.
Sharon M.Stocker
Project Manager
Attach.
CD/cd/sp/sms
cc: L.Mays(Malcolm-Pimie)
C.Duran(BEM)
S.Pasha(BEM)
g.:lac&c-h&cV 3591corresp120125cd.dw
