Pershing Ave.
Stockton, CA
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Monitoring Well
Installation Results Report" and the first"Quarterly Monitoring Report" dated March 5, 1991, and has the
following comments:
]. The work outlined in the monitoring well installation results report had been performed
eight months prior to its receipt by PHS/EHD. Future submittals will need to be done more
timely.
2. Based on the first quarterly monitoring report, determination of groundwater gradient
indicates that the only downgradient well is in the sidewalk and is sampled and maintained
by Exxon U.S.A. PHS/EHD recommends that Shell install a well downgradient from and
closer to the old underground tank basin. i.
I
3. Total coliform testing of MW#2 is not necessary,PHS/EHD only needs fecal coliform. All
wells should be analyzed for total lead rather than organic lead, TPHg, and BTEX-
if you have any questions contact Steven Schneider, REHS, of my staff at (209)468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Offic r i
urie A.
