The operation of the existing tank system was also discussed with the possibility <br /> explored that the single walled vapor and vent lines may be a source. Following an evaluation of the next quarterly <br /> sampling results, a work plan will be prepared to install an offsite well to define the extent of groundwater <br /> contamination. <br /> 4445 Pershing Avenue, Stockton-Harlin Knoll <br /> A determination was made by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board staff that the groundwater <br /> contamination observed in MW8, installed by Exxon, is associated with a release from the Shell facility. Enviros <br /> will review Exxon's files and prepare a work plan to further investigate the area of the eastern dispenser. The <br /> workplan will include,at minimum,a soil boring drilled to groundwater. It was pointed out that due to increasing <br /> water levels MWI -MW3's well screens were submerged. Further information regarding the former waste oil tank <br /> was requested. <br /> 1071 Main Street,Manteca-Ron Rowe <br /> A report of the August 15, 1996 tank removal and limited overexcavation will be submitted. The site will be placed <br /> into the Local Oversight Program and a regulatory directive prepared. <br /> 341 Main Street,Ripon-Ron Rowe <br /> There is evidence of remaining soil contamination from the excavation of the eastern end of the southern dispenser <br /> island. Given the overexcavation extended to 17 feet below ground surface and groundwater at approximately 20 <br /> feet below ground surface a groundwater investigation will be required. A work plan proposing the additional <br /> investigation should be submitted within 45 days. <br /> 7910 Lower Sacramento Road, Stockton-Mary Meays <br /> A work plan was submitted in February 1996 to install a soil boring in the area of the northern dispenser island to <br /> investigate the extent of the soil contamination which was evidenced during the station upgrade. PHSIEHD did not <br /> provide comments except to inquire if the additional investigation PHS/EHD had requested would be included, <br /> which it was not. Semi-annual groundwater monitoring continued and following MTBE's addition to the list of <br /> analytes,concentrations of up to 800 ppb were observed. PHSIEHD directed that quarterly sampling be resumed. <br /> By August 6, 1996,the next quarterly report will be submitted and will include a proposal for additional <br /> investigation as warranted by the concentrations detected in the groundwater. <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
