MWITORING YELL INSTALLATION RESULTS REPORT
4445 Persuing Avenue, Stockton, Catifornia
Aegis Project No. 89-016
Page 7
2.6 Ground Water Anal sis
On 23 July ground water samples were collected from the three
monitoring wells. Ground water samples were collected according to
the methods described in Section 2.1 of Appendix A. The samples
were submitted under chain-of-custody to a state-certified
laboratory for analysis of; a) petroleum hydrocarbons volatile
(PHV) as gasoline by GC FID/5030, b) benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene
and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA method 602, c) ethylene dibromide
by EPA method 8240, and, d) organic lead by DOHS/L[JFT. MW-2 was
additionally tested for total and fecal coliform utilizing methods
SM908A and SM908C, respectively. Organic lead (ppm) and ethylene
dibromide (ppb) were below detection limits in all sample analysis.
TABLE 3
Ground Water Analytical Results
Petroleum
Ethyl Hydrocarbons
No. Date Benzene Benzene Toluene Xylene Volatile
(Ppb) (Ppm)
MW-1 7/23/90 BDL BDL BDL BDL BDL
MW-2 7/23/90 BDL BDL BDL BDL BDL
MW-3 7/23/90 BDL BDL BDL BDL BDL
NOTE; BDL = Below detection limits
ppb = parts per billion
ppm = parts per million
3.0 DISCUSSION
3.1 Petroleum Rydrocarbons in Soil
Data obtained during investigation indicates that petroleum
hydrocarbons are present in the backfill and native soil within and
below the former tank basin.
