Additionally, it is assumed that each employee would drive his/her vehi-,
cle to and from the plant site each working day. The facility would)
employ 28 workers.
To estimate expected emissions from these sources, emission factors
from BAAQMD (1985) and SCAQMD (1987) were used along with the anticipated
traffic levels. The emissions from vehicular traffic are summarized in
Table 3.10. Diesel truck emissions were estimated assuming a 50 mile
round-trip for each of a maximum of 108 daily truck trips to the facility
and emission factors for the year 1987 (SCAQMD, 1987) . The truck emis-
sions also assume that no trucks entering and exiting the facility would
experience any queuing delays. The estimated emissions from employee
vehicles assumed a 20 mile round-trip for each of the 28 employee-driven
vehicles and year 1990 emission factors corresponding to an average speed
of 30 mph (BAAQMD, 1985) . Assuming that truck queuing delays would be
minimized, the traffic-related emissions associated with the proposed
project are not expected to be significant.
TABLE 3.10
EMISSIONS DUE TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Emissions
Pollutant (lb/day)
CO 121
HC 36
NOx 207
Sox 38
PM10 65a
aIncludes re-entrained roadway dust.
Mitigation Measures. Traffic-related air emissions would Ibe
insignificant, even without the use of mitigation measures. Therefo e,
no mitigation measures are proposed.
3-61
101-30.R5 4/13/89
