1. H. KLEINFELDER &ASSOCIATES
r
1 MMIVE SUMMARY
Project targeted geologic characteristics of the property included
lithol.ogy, location and geometry of soil horizons
(i.e., vadose zone),
confining layers, uppermost water bearing unit, and multiple aquifers. In
summary six hydrogeological zones were identified and are shown on
geologic cross section A-A' (Figure 6) and on a geolog;c fence diagram
(Figure 7). The vadose zone appears to encompass a site-wide thickness of
approximately 40 feet. A property wide hydrogeological zone oummary
utilizing lithological information from logs of a
penetrations (Table 4 A ,.a 11 artificial .
+ pP=...- A) has been prepared.
Project targeted hydraulic characteristics of the property included
assessing the transmissivity and the storage coefficient for the uppermost
water-bearing unit (zone IV). To collect this information three slug
tests f-:om three wells were performed. The slug tests indicate the
transmissivity of Zone IV ranges from 160.6 gpd/ft to 415.7 gpd/ft.
Transmissivity values of this magnitude are low and would not allow high
yield pumping. The storagr, coefficient of the Uppermost water-bearing
(Zane IV) unit is estimated to range between 1 x 10-2 and I x 10-3
(dimensionless), indicating weak hydraulic confinement.
Potentiometric surface maps have beenprepared showing changes in the
hydraulic gradient and ground water flow direction over time. Recent
measurements show the direction of ground water flow to be approximately
south to southwest. The velocity of ground water flow has been calculated
with an approximate value ranging from 33 ft/yr to 197 ft/yr.
Well construction details have been summarized in Table 1 (Appendix A).
All available lithology logs and well construction details are included
with Appendix c.
'
53-.37-443 1
