The report concludes that: 1) There is no evidence that the <br /> highly weathered hydrocarbons potentially present in soil are causing significant impacts to <br /> ground water; 2) There are no drinking water or water supply wells in the vicinity of the site; <br /> 3) There is no surface water body in the vicinity of the site; 4) Over time, the total pollutant <br /> mass in the subsurface has decreased and will continue to decrease; 5) The nature and extent of <br /> the hydrocarbons in the subsurface has been characterized; and 6) Soil and ground water <br /> sampling results indicate no migration of hydrocarbons potentially present in the subsurface. <br /> Based on staff's review of the available data, no further action is required. <br /> Nothing in this determination shall constitute or be construed as a satisfaction or release from <br /> liability for any conditions or claims arising as a result of past, current or future operations at <br /> this location. Nothing in this determination is intended or shall be construed to limit or preclude <br /> the Regional Board or any other agency from taking any further enforcement actions. This letter <br /> does not relieve Chevron Pipeline Company of any responsibilities mandated under the California <br /> Health and Safety Code and the California Water Code if existing, additional, or previously- <br /> unidentified contamination at the site causes or threatens to cause pollution or nuisance or is <br /> found to pose a threat to public health or water quality. <br /> If you have any questions, you may call me at (916) 255-3075. <br /> 1 <br /> WENDY L.
