Mr. Joel Weiss <br /> January 20, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Per your May 1, 1996, letter and the Approach, the quarterly groundwater monitoring program <br /> will include the following elements: <br /> • Groundwater elevation measurements and calculation and mapping of the potentiometric <br /> surface; <br /> • Sampling of three existing groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3); <br /> • Analysis of groundwater samples by U.S. EPA Methods 8015 for TPH quantitated against <br /> gasoline-range hydrocarbons (C4 to C12), 8015M quantitated against diesel-range <br /> hydrocarbons (C 10 to C24), 8020 for BTEX, 8310 for PNAs, and 6010 for leads; <br /> • A summary of information collected to date; <br /> • Interpretation of results; and <br /> • Recommendations for additional work and/or proposed modifications to the quarterly <br /> sampling program. <br /> It is CPL'S understanding that, barring unanticipated analytical results or need for additional site <br /> investigation, the Mountain View Town Homes site will be formally closed by the CVRWQCB <br /> following four consecutive quarterly groundwater monitoring events. <br /> CPL is prepared to begin monitoring of the site upon your approval of this letter.
