It was refreshing to meet someone in your position with such a straight
forward attitude about environmental issues.
Chevron can appreciate the need for public awareness, and will work with everyone to ensure
that there are no "surprises" later on. I have attached a NewsLetter that we sent to residents in
the Alden Park area(located about one mile north of the Mountain View Townhomes property)
prior to performing our field work. In short, we are conducting an site investigation which
includes sampling from both private residents and city property to evaluate the presence of
BTEX and PNAs. Also attached is a copy of an article that was published in the December 6,
1995 issue of the Tracy Press. In general, the response to our public affairs activities has been
positive.
Again, thank you for your help on this project. Please contact Mr. Martin Bloes (510/842-6855)
or me (510/842-6930) with any remarks or questions.
Sincerely,
F
D.rchments
bertson
At
