MEETING THE CO&UNITY AND KEEPING W INFORMED <br /> On August 17, 1995 Chevron held a community meeting to keep the residents of Tracy's Alden Park area <br /> abreast of a new soil testing program and ongoing efforts to remedy the problem of oily soil. <br /> The neighborhood meeting was held at Villalovoz Elementary School and was attended by more than 20 <br /> Alden Park-area residents. Representatives from the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the City of <br /> Tracy and the-San Joaquin County Department of Health Services joined Chevron to explain the testing <br /> and answer your questions. <br /> We have answered below the questions we heard most often at the community meeting. <br /> Q Where did the oil in the ground come from? Q If Chevron has already conducted soil tests, <br /> why are you doing more soil testing? <br /> A Chevron operated an oil storage reservoir on <br /> what is now Alden Park from 1928 to 1957.
