Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the soil at the
site during removal of a section of two old crude oil pipelines by Chevron Pipeline Company in
May 1995. The work plan was prepared in response to the results of the initial investigation by
Raney Geotechnical, which identified seven areas of petroleum-affected soil along the old
pipeline section. Our comments on the work plan are included in the enclosed memorandum.
By 17 August 1995, please provide a supplement to the work plan which adequately addresses
these comments, as well as an updated schedule for implementation of the investigation and
preparation of a report of results.
If you have any estions, you may call me at(916) 255-3141.
- MOO
Water Resources Control Engineer
Enclosure
JDM:j dm\lsb
cc: Ms. Margaret Lagorio, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Mr. Kevin Smith, Rural California Housing Corporation, Sacramento
Mr. George Forsythe, EMCON, Fresno
