17 April 2008
AGE-NC-07-1586
Organic vapors were not detected in any samples collected using the PID.Furthermore,no petroleum
hydrocarbon-like odors were noted in any of the samples collected.
4.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
Four soil samples, B1-1, B2-1, B3-1 and B4-1, were analyzed for the constituents listed in section
3.4. CAM 17 metals were reported in soil samples B1-1, B2-1, B3-1 and B4-1. Barium, chromium
and vanadium was reported in each of the samples collected at a maximum concentration of 48
mg/kg (B 1-1), 16 mg/kg (B 1-1) and 13 mg/kg (B 1-1), respectively. Lead was only reported in the
samples collected from borings B 1-1 and B3-1 at a maximum concentration of 6.1 mg/kg (B 1-1).
Zinc was only reported in the sample collected from boring B 1-1 at a concentration of 2.9 mg/kg.
No other target analytes were reported in the soil samples. The analytical results are summarized in
Tables land 2. A copy of the laboratory report (CTEL Project No. CT214-0803046) is included in
Appendix A.
5.0. CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes:
• Generally, the soil type encountered in borings B2 through B4 was a dark yellow-orange
brown to dark brown fine poorly graded sand. Approximately 0.25 inch gravels were
encountered in boring B3.
• Low concentrations of the metals barium, chromium, lead, vanadium and zinc were reported
in soil samples collected from borings B 1 through 134;however,the reported concentrations
were within the average concentrations reported for these metals in California soils(Bradford
and others, 1996).
• No other target analytes were reported in the soil samples analyzed.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
AGE's professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised
by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
field data and analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the property for the purpose of this investigation were made
from a limited number of available data points and subsurface conditions may vary beyond these data
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
