SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Charanjit Jutla to <br /> conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the proposed Ahern Truck <br /> Stop and Fueling Center facility located at 29700 South Ahern Road, Tracy, California <br /> (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study were conducted to determine <br /> whether the soils are suitable for use with a septic system, as well as to estimate if the <br /> use of septic systems will impact ground water quality. The study was performed <br /> according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County <br /> Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> According to the application, the proposed project involves "a truck stop with <br /> maintenance, truck wash, auto fueling station, and fast food restaurant. The application <br /> includes the construction of an 8,625 square foot truck stop and gas station, a 4,000 <br /> square foot fast food restaurant, ... a 3,000 square foot fuel storage building, a 7,200- <br /> square foot lube and truck wash center, and a truck scale." A site plan is included as <br /> Plate 2. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 255-020-14. The Site is 9.49 acres <br /> in size. The County project application number is PA-1600049 (UP). The Site is <br /> located at 29700 South Ahern Road, Tracy. <br /> The Site is currently vacant agricultural land (Plate 3). Two wells are located near the <br /> southern corner of the Site. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 70 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 4). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br /> (www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned C-FS, Freeway Service <br /> LOGE 1947 Page 1 <br />
