Inc. Facility
1766 Monte Diablo Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Chapin:
This Work Plan presents our understanding of the status of the Chapin Bros, Inc. site
located at 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue in Stockton, California, and describes proposed remedial
work to mitigate contamination at the site. The proposed scope of work is prepared as delineated
in the Final Remedial Plan prepared by Geological Audit Services, with modifications and
alternative procedures which we feel will bring about a more successful, cost-effective, and
timely solution to the problem.
SITE BACKGROUND
Materials you supplied included data summarized as follows:
• The site operated as a service station from the late 1930's until 1990. Approximately 7
underground gasoline tanks and one waste oil tank are known to have been present onsite.
All known tanks have been abandoned, although three tanks may have been abandoned in
place while the others were removed in 1993.
• Previous work has included construction of one monitoring well in 1990 by Roger Foott
Associates, Inc., which showed that soil and groundwater contamination were present.
3560 BUSINESS DRIVE, SUITE 120 0 SACRAMENTO, CA 95820 (916) 737-9294 • FAX (916) 737-9298
