Dec. 15. 2006 5.28PM Advanced GeoEnvironmental No, 7092 P. 2/3
Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. :••
15 December 2006
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0103
Mr.Nuel Henderson
San Joaquin County-Environmental Health Department(EHD)
304 E.Webber Avenue,3`d Floor
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Ground Water Extraction-Work Plan Addendum
CHAPIN BROTHERS INVESTMENTS,INC.
1766 Monte Diablo Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Henderson:
At the request of Mr. Russell Chapin(property owner),Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)
has provided the following Ground Water Extraction- Work Plan Addendum for the site at 1766
Monte Diablo, Stockton, California. The work plan addendum was prepared in response to the
Environmental Health Department(EHD)letter dated 19 October 2006.
AGE prepared the Remedial Action Work Plan Addendum, dated 28 June 2001 and the plan was
approved by the EHD by letter dated 15 August 2001. The Remedial Action Work Plan Addendum
described the use of monitoring well MW-1,vapor weld VE-1, VE-5 and VE-6,in conjunction with
the use of proposed extraction wells EW-1, EW-2 and EW-3. Two of the existing shallow
monitoring wells(MW-1) or vapor extraction wells(VE-1)did not produce adequate groundwater
for active ground water remediation. However, vapor extraction well VE-6 did produce minimal
groundwater and was significantly impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons, thus requiring
remediation.
Based on the current distribution of dissolved hydrocarbons (fourth quarter 2006) and the steady
increase of dissolved hydrocarbon in the northern potion of the site, ground water extraction is
required to capture the remaining dissolved plume. An ditional set of four-inch diameter wells
should be installed at the following locations;vapor well VE-1 near the northern edge of the building
on the site;north of well MW-4 near well MW-1 in the former eastern UST excavation and near the
location of vapor well VE-6, at the northern edge of the western UST excavation. The objective of
this work plan is to enhance the limited ground water extraction network currently on the site and
produce an adequate draw-down for the dissolved plume capture.
fir.. ✓" - ,2S
Mw v - /tw/'- 3S ' TD (Idw , tUl SoetA 0-30' 6o
V - _711T ,
