(a) The owner or operator shall inspect, <br />where present, at least once each operating day: (1) overfill/spill control equipment (e.g., waste -feed <br />cutoff systems, bypass systems, and drainage systems) to ensure that it is in good working order; (2) the <br />aboveground portions of the tank system, if any, to detect corrosion or releases of waste; (3) data <br />gathered from monitoring equipment and leak -detection equipment, (e.g., pressure and temperature <br />gauges, monitoring wells) to ensure that the tank system is being operated according to its design; (4) <br />the construction materials and the area immediately surrounding containment structures (e.g., dikes) to <br />detect erosion or signs of releases of hazardous waste (e.g., wet spots, dead vegetation); and (5) for <br />uncovered tanks, the level of waste in the tank, to ensure compliance with section 66265.194(b)(3) .. . <br />(c) The owner or operator shall document in the operating record of the facility an inspection of those <br />items in subsection (a) and (b) of this section. The lube shop manager Anthony Morphis agreed to begin <br />documenting the hazardous waste tank inspections daily. Ensure that the required hazardous waste <br />tank inspections are conducted and documented daily. <br />133. This facility does not have a hazardous waste tank assessment for the used oil tank nor the used <br />coolant tank. Owners or operators of tank systems or components shall ensure that the foundation, <br />structural support, seams, connections, and pressure controls are adequately designed and that the tank <br />system has sufficient structural strength, compatibility with the waste(s) to be transferred, stored or <br />treated, and corrosion protection so that it will not collapse, rupture, or fail. The owner or operator shall <br />obtain a written assessment reviewed and certified by an independent, qualified, professional engineer, <br />registered in California in accordance with section 66270.11(d) attesting that the system has sufficient <br />structural integrity, is acceptable for the transferring, storing and treating of hazardous waste, and that <br />the tanks and containment system are suitably designed to achieve the requirements of this article. This <br />assessment shall be obtained prior to placing the tank system in service, and shall be kept on file at the <br />facility. Correct immediately by obtaining the required tank assessment for the used oil tank and the <br />used coolant tank per Title 22 hazardous waste regulations.
