Subsequent to installation, wellhead elevations and locations were surveyed to allow lateral and
vertical control for data reduction Surveying was performed under the direction of a California
rregistered engineer
t3.3 Fluid Level Measurement
After fluid levels had been allowed to stabilize groundwater levels were obtained from respective
monitoring wells on March 2, 1992 Levels were taken utilizing an electronic water level probe
capable of measuring with an accuracy of 1/20 of an inch No free product was detected
3.4 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Groundwater monitoring wells were developed using a pneumatic pump in conjunction with a
surgeblock Water was purged from each well until the extracted water was relatively sediment
;
free Wells MWi and MW3 were developed and sampled on February 25, 1992 Well MW2
was developed and sampled on March 2, 1992
Immediately following well development, a groundwater sample was retrieved from each well
Stabilization of EC, pH, and temperature were checked after purging and before and after
;
sample collection to ensure samples collected were representative of formation water Field
purge logs are presented in Appendix IV
Water sample collection and preservation was conducted in accordance with RESNA's QA/QC
Plan, groundwater sampling protocol Samples were transferred to appropriate sample
containers, using clean, disposable bailers with bottom emptying devices to reduce volatilization
Sample containers were then labelled with sample identification, placed on ice, and shipped
under chain-of-custody to RESNA Environmental Laboratories (DHS #1211) The water
samples were analyzed by RESNA Environmental Laboratories for BTEX and TPHG by EPA
methods 8020 and modified 8015, respectively The method detection limit at RESNA
Environmental regarding BTEX and TPHG in water is 0 5 and 50 ppb, respectively Analytical
results are summarized in Table 3 Laboratory data sheets are presented in Appendix V
1
' R-61292 TL 5
