• A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> sampled well A dedicated disposable bailer was used to collect each water sample Purge water <br /> was contained in labeled DOT approved 55 gallon drums and stored on site Field parameters and <br /> purged volumes are shown on well purge logs included in Attachment I <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Groundwater samples from the monitoring wells were placed on ice and transported under chain- <br /> of-custody protocol to Sequoia Analytical laboratory Groundwater samples from wells MW1, <br /> MW3, and MW5 were analyzed for TPHg and TPHd by EPA method 8015 modified, and BTEX <br /> and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) by EPA method 8020 <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> The groundwater samples from well MW1 contained TPHg, TPHd, and BTEX constituents The <br /> laboratory reported the chromatogram patterns indicated both gas and diesel are present in well <br /> MW 1 <br /> The groundwater sample collected from MW3 contained benzene and TPHd above laboratory <br /> detection limits The chromatogram pattern for this sample did not match a diesel pattern and <br /> . was reported by the laboratory as an unidentified hydrocarbon <br /> Only the water sample collected from MWA contained concentrations of benzene in excess of the <br /> State of California Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 1 part per billion (ppb) The reported <br /> concentration of benzene in MW1 was 560 ppb No other petroleum constituents were detected <br /> above MCLs <br /> Samples collected from upgadient well MWS did not contain any of the analytes above laboratory <br /> method detection limits <br /> Analytical results for groundwater are summarized in Table 2 Laboratory data sheets and chain <br /> of custody documentation are included as Attachment 2 <br /> FREE PRODUCT REMOVAL <br /> Free product has been monitored and removed from MW2 monthly since a passive skimmer was <br /> installed in flus well on June 27, 1997 During the second quarter 1998, a total of 2 09 liters of <br /> product was removed The well was inaccessible during an April 8, 1998 visit due to a trailer <br /> which was parked over the well <br /> A summary of product volume removed and previous product analytical data is presented in Table <br /> 3 <br /> 943341QUARTLYI2QR-1998 DOC 3 <br />
