' /� Clayton <br /> ��GROIJP SERVICES <br /> 5.0 INVESTIGATION RESULTS <br />' 5.1 SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS <br />' Subsurface soils encountered during drilling on the subject property consist of dark <br /> brown, slightly moist silty clay shallow in the section underlain at approximately 10 to 15 <br /> feet bgs by wet gray-tan silty to sandy clay At 20 feet bgs, wet sand stringers are <br />' present Groundwater was observed to rise in the section within the open borehole <br /> Boring logs are enclosed as Appendix C <br />' 5.2 SOIL ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br />' Grab soil samples from each of the three borings were collected on January 21, 2003 and <br /> analyzed at STL for TPH-gas, TPH-dicsel, BTEX, and MTBE A total of three soil <br /> samples were analyzed The results of these analyses are included with the laboratory <br />' reports in Appendix F Chain-of-custody records also are included in Appendix F <br /> TPH-gas, BTEX, and MTBE were not detected in any of the three soil samples Diesel <br /> was detected at low concentrations in each of the soil samples at 10 mg/kg (MW-1), 7 1 <br />' mg/kg(MW-2), and 2 1 mg/kg (MW-3) The analytical laboratory has flagged each of <br /> these diesel values as being a hydrocarbon that does not match the pattern of their diesel <br /> standard <br /> 5.3 GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br />' Groundwater from each of the three groundwater monitoring wells was sampled on <br /> January 21, 2003 and analyzed at a California-certified laboratory for TPH-gas, TPH- <br />, diesel, BTEX, and MTBE The results of these analyses are included with the laboratory <br /> reports in Appendix F <br />' TPH-gas, BTEX, and MTBE were not detected in any of the three groundwater samples <br /> TPH-diesel was detected in each of the groundwater samples at concentrations of 120 <br /> µg/L (MW-1), 270 µg/L (MW-2) and 620 gg/L (MW-3) The laboratory has flagged <br />' each of these diesel values as being a hydrocarbon that does no match the pattern of their <br /> diesel standard <br /> Groundwater at the site flows to the southeast at a gradient of 0 0083 The groundwater <br /> flow direction is shown on Figure 3 <br />' 6.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based on the requirements of the PHD/EHD, three soil borings were drilled, grab soil <br /> samples from each of these borings were analyzed, groundwater monitoring wells were <br /> installed in each boring, and the first quarterly groundwater monitoring event was <br /> 6 <br />' S\Proj\P02263\Q1 Rpt doc <br />
