It will give you multiple choices to determine the item’s condition.
Making the correct selection is important so the RF unit provides the proper directions for further handling or
disposal.
When reviewing the item’s condition to make your selection, keep these points in mind:
1. LEAKING - The LEAKING option must be used when:
a. Liquid item is spilled or actively leaking, OR
b. Non-liquid item’s contents have escaped the original container, OR
c. Glass item is cracked, broken, and/or shattered
2. OUTDATED - The OUTDATED option must be used when an item is pulled from the Freshness Report, is expired, etc.
Perishables include non-credit Direct Store Delivery and D&O items such as milk/dairy.
3. PACKAGE OPENED - The PACKAGE OPENED option must be used when:
a. Package has been opened, OR
b. Contents of the package are missing, OR
c. Safety seals have been damaged or removed, OR
d. Item has been used or is empty
4. DAMAGED - The DAMAGED option should be rarely used and is only for items that do not match the other categories
above: Leaking, Outdated, Package Opened. Example: An OTC item where the outside box is crushed, but the contents
inside remain intact and no seals have been removed or damaged, AND the item is not expired. If an item is transferred in
D&O as damaged, it must be in a condition safe and appropriate for shipment.
