<br />Published by Articulate® Storyline 49 4/27/18 <br />5.5 In the Event of an Emergency: Roles and Responsibilities <br /> <br />Notes: <br />The Store Manager, Shift Supervisor, or Manager on Duty is responsible to identify an emergency and IMMEDIATELY: <br />• If evacuation is necessary, instruct associates and customers to evacuate the store through the nearest exit. <br />Account for customers and associates in the designated area, and ensure all remain outside until emergency <br />response is terminated and operations are resumed. <br />• Call 911 to alert appropriate emergency response units via cell phone. <br />• If the incident involves indoor/outdoor release of hazardous waste, liquids, powders, pills, gases, etc., <br />IMMEDIATELY: <br />• Call the Emergency Response Coordinators in the order listed on Page 5 of the ECP until one of the <br />Coordinators (District Leader, AP District Leader, or Regional Compliance Leader), is reached to provide <br />direction for the implementation of the ECP. <br />• Call the corporate EHS Department at 717-975-8643 to coordinate with the Hazardous Waste Emergency <br />Responder for any spill/release involving hazardous waste. <br />• Take all reasonable measures to ensure the spill/release does not spread, for example using absorbent <br />pads, and that pedestrians or vehicles do not pass through the material. <br />• Assess any possible direct and indirect hazards to human health and the environment that may result from <br />the biological, chemical, or physical properties of the released material. <br />
