EVERY FACILITY WITH PETROLEUM OR CHEMICAL STORAGE SHALL MAINTAIN AN EMERGENCY
SPILL RESPONSE PLAN. ALL EMPLOYEES MUST BE TRAINED IN, AND FAMILIAR WITH, THE
ESRP. ALL SPILLS MUST BE HANDLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL
LAWS, AND THESE PROCEDURES.
Each facility must have a designated Emergency Coordinator and at least one Alternate. Emergency
Coordinators must:
• make sure the ESRP is complete and
• ensure that all employees are fully trained on spill procedures and the plan.
The facility manager must ensure that all employees are trained on:
• how to contact their facility's Emergency Coordinator and Alternate,
• what to do when a spill occurs (proper usage of Emergency Spill Response Plan and Spill Response
Booklet),
• where to find emergency contact phone numbers, and
• how to complete required notifications.
