Technician It <br />ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (if this is o DOT regulated or safety sensitive position, please provide specific criteria <br />required.) <br />➢ Effective interpersonal communication skills <br />➢ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds <br />• Must be available to work shift work/weekends and on call duty as required <br />D Computer literacy required <br />• Must have the minimum tools required as outlined in Maintenance policy 2.02 <br />➢ Must be able to perform all entry level tasks <br />• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude <br />MAJOR ACTIVITIES: <br />Skill Area: Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Tire & Wheel safety trained within 90 days (TW220) <br />• Perform air pressure checks <br />• Check tread depth <br />• Identify tires that need to be changed or repaired <br />• Perform tire P.M. checks <br />• Replace tire and wheel assemblies <br />D Skill Area: Preventive Maintenance: PM trained and qualified within 90 days (PM230&PM298) <br />■ Proper lube techniques <br />• Minimal tire inspection <br />• Brake check/applied stroke <br />■ Battery check <br />• Under vehicle check/loose components <br />■ Fault code identification <br />Skill Area: Brakes: Hydraulic Brake Hydraulic trained and qualified within 90 days (8H220&BH299) <br />where appropriate <br />■ Road test for proper operation <br />• Make visual inspections for leaks <br />• Check park brake operation <br />• Check fluid level <br />• Measure lining thickness <br />• Adjust service brakes <br />■ Adjust park brakes <br />9 Skill Area: Brakes -Air: Brake Air trained and qualified within 90 days (BA220&BA298) <br />• Identify, remove, & replace all brake -related defective components <br />■ Identify components of air brake system <br />■ Operate brakes and identify irregular noises, air leaks <br />■ Perform simple air system tests <br />• Measure lining thickness <br />■ Adjust brakes <br />• Perform air brake sections of P.M. <br />• Measure drums, rotors, cam bushings <br />2 <br />Revised; Feb 2014 <br />
