Box 2009 <br />1601 East Hazelton Avenue <br />Stockton, CA 95201-2009 <br />Attention: Ms. Kasey Foley <br />EXCtITECN <br />R EGO'k E I V E} <br />AUG 0 3 1990 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL HEAL -R-` <br />PERNAIIT/SERME.S <br />Subject: Fuel Leak <br />Quik Stop #132, 3555 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California <br />Exceltech Project No. 34913-41 <br />Dear Ms. Foley: <br />This letter will confirm the highlights of our telephone conversation of July 30th <br />regarding the spill of approximately 200 gallons of unleaded fuel contained in the <br />backfill, at the above referenced site. <br />Exceltech, Inc. (ET) on behalf of Quik Stop Markets, Inc. will perform the following <br />work: <br />1 . Tank complex will be exposed: <br />A TLV readings will be constantly monitored <br />B. A foam agent will be used to reduce the possibility of sparking <br />C. A fan will be on-site to ventilate the work area <br />2. Backfill material and fuel will be removed: <br />A A vacuum truck will remove peal gravel and fuel <br />B. All liquid fuel will be hauled (with manifest) from site <br />C. Pea gravel will be sampled and stockpiled <br />3. Samples of native soil beneath the tanks will be obtained: <br />A Four samples will be obtained approximately <br />3-5 feet into native soil beneath the tank hole complex <br />B. No sampling will be done without the presence of Ms. Foley <br />
