Now SUstem
new system will be installed to handle the oily water waste. The
equipment will include a small, flow through sump (lined concrete), pump
with level control, oil/water separator and clean water tank. Oil and grease
will be withdrawn from the separator and stored in drums. These will be
sent to an approved oil recovery operation periodically. The clean water will
be pumped from the storage tank to a tank truck for transport and disposal
to the sewer. The system capacity will be 15 gpm of oily water waste. This
will operate as required (level control from the flow through sump) to keep
the sump empty. Containment will be provided for the now equipment in case
of a spill or vessel leak.
Concrete or asphalt curbs or berms will be installed to contain the oily
waste and direct it to the sump and oil removal system. The existing
surface drainage will be preserved, with the curbs and berms providing
positive separation of the rain water from the oily waste.
The proposed system is shown schematically on the attached sketch.
