• <br />• <br />• 0 <br />7.9 BOMB THREAT <br />It is Dart Container Corporation's policy to evaluate bomb threats in <br />order to determine the appropriate action that must be taken. <br />Further, in-depth guidance on how to handle a bomb threat can be <br />found in the Bomb Threat Emergency Action Plan. Evacuation <br />information for bomb threats will also be found in this plan. <br />Receipt of Bomb Threat by Telephone <br />If a telephone bomb threat is received by any employee, the following steps shall be <br />followed immediately: <br />a. Take information using the telephone "Bomb Threat Checklist" (attached) <br />as a guideline. <br />b. Do not hang up and do not transfer the call. <br />C. Try to attract the attention of a co-worker to listen in on the conversation. <br />d. Immediately after the call is completed, contact one of the following persons: <br />Department Head <br />Supervisor/Shift Supervisor <br />Plant Manager <br />In the event of a call during off -hours, immediately caill 9-1-1. <br />Off -hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and weekends and holidays. <br />2. Receipt of Bomb Threat By Notice Other Than Telephone <br />a. If a bomb threat notice other than by telephone - such as a written note/letter, <br />e-mail, package, etc. is received by any employee, IMMEDIATELY do the <br />following: <br />Contact one of the following persons: <br />Department Head <br />Supervisor/Shift Supervisor <br />Plant Manager <br />b. Suspicious Packages / Mail <br />Suspicious mail, packages, etc., may have the following characteristics: <br />• It has a powdery substance on the outside <br />• It is unexpected or from someone unfamiliar <br />• It is addressed to someone no longer with the organization or is otherwise <br />outdated <br />• It has no return address or one that cannot be verified as legitimate <br />• It is of unusual weight given its size, or is lopsided or oddly shaped <br />25 <br />
