26500 Nowell Road
Page 2
Using this information, you shall propose•a corrective action plan and submit the pian for
review and approval, pursuant to the Underground Storage Tank Regulations, with
authority granted by the Health and Safety Code. -
PHSIEHD has requested in correspondence dated September 26, 1996 the submittal by
December 30, 1996 of a work plan to evaluate remedial alternatives. The report stated
that in lieu of a work plan groundwater monitoring would continue until appropriate
guidance is received from the State and Regional Water Quality Control Boards.
Please note that while groundwater contaminants have not been recently detected in the
groundwater samples collected, without PHSIEHD inspection, significant soil and
groundwater contaminants were evidenced well below the current groundwater depth.
Additional information to assess.the mobility of these contaminants may provide the
additional information necessary to demonstrate that this is a "Low Risk Groundwater
Site". Please prepare a corrective action plan or a work pian to collect the additional .
information necessary to prepare a corrective action plan by February 14, 1996.
it is certainly PHS/EHD's hope that if closure, site certified for no further action, is
warranted that sufficient information will be submitted to make that evaluation. If you
have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Y
Mary Meays, Seni REHS Margare agdrio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
MM126500.NOW
i
cc: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWCQB
/Ismael Jacabo, SWRCS Cleanup Unit
✓ Steven Osborn, Fugro West
I
I
