The purpose of the investigation
was to determine the extent of soil and groundwater contamination.
Field screening of soil and groundwater samples observed during the installation and
drilling of MW1 , MW2, and SBA1 and SBA2 suggested that the migration of
contamination was not as extensive as previously estimated, based on the November
28, 1994 investigative results. Therefore, PHSIEHD requested a modification of the
approved work plan to provide for the installation of MW3 using the borehole drilled
approximately 10 feet from the former tank location (then identified as SBA2) and
further investigation of the vertical extent of the contamination in the former tank
location.
If you have any questions or require further information, please contact Mary Meays
at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
