The facility(Site) is <br /> located at 26200 Nowell Road in Thornton,California(Plates 1 and 2)(Site). This work plan and permit <br /> were requested in a February 9, 2001 PHS/EHD letter to TVG which indicated that the seven wells must <br /> be destroyed prior to issuance of the site closure letter. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Since 1987 several phases of investigation including installation of six monitoring wells,ten soil borings, <br /> and three hand auger borings by other consultants. In 1998 and 1999 HLA performed a SST that included <br /> advancing three soil borings and obtaining depth specific_hydropunch grab groundwater sampling and <br /> subsequently the installation of one deep monitoring well (MW-7). The results of these investigations <br /> were presented in the report entitled Closure Report(HLA, 1999). M_ onitoring well locations are shown <br /> on Plate 3. <br /> WORK PLAN FOR WELL DESTRUCTION <br /> Destruction of the wells will be performed in accordance with the requirements of San Joaquin County <br /> Well Standards(Section 13.17.6, .12, and..13)and the State of California Well Standards Bulletins 74-81 <br /> and 74-90 (California Department of Water Resources, 1981 and 1991).
