RECEIVED <br /> OCT 0 5 1992 <br /> - 14� H ��5� m <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES Working to Restore Nature <br /> 1710 Main Street <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 October 2 1992 <br /> Phone (209)838-3507 <br /> FAX (209)838-3509 <br /> Ms. Mary Meays <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P Q Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> RE: 1992 Third Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Activities/Remediation System <br /> Performance Report, Tri-Valley Growers, 26200 g Road, Thornton, <br /> CaliforniaL-¢ <br /> Dear Mary <br /> This letter report updates RESNA Industries' (RESNA's) activities at Tri-Valley Growers' <br /> Thornton plant (Figure 1) during the third quarter of 1992 Activities during the quarter <br /> included monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from the monitoring <br /> wells on site, operation and maintenance of the remediation system, analysis of samples from <br /> the treatment system influent (well MW4) and carbon filter effluent Remediation system <br /> operation began on May 13, 1991 <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in July, August, and September Groundwater gradient <br /> maps reflect a depression created by pumping of the groundwater in monitoring well MW4 <br /> (Figures 2 through 4) The cone of depression around the pumping well and the area of <br /> influence are demonstrated in these maps The water table continued to drop each month until <br /> September when the levels rose approximately one foot The pumping rate has been increased <br /> to maintain deeper water levels The groundwater monitoring data is summarized in Table 1 <br /> Groundwater monitoring logs are included in Attachment I <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW1, MW2, MW3, MW5, and <br /> MW6 on September 4, 1992 after stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and <br /> temperature The monitoring wells were purged using dedicated submersible pumps Well <br /> purge logs are included in Attachment 1 Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, <br /> QRTERLYNQM092192 FNL <br />
