Quarter Groundwater Monitoring ActiVities/Remediation System
Performance Report, Tri-Valley Growers, 26200 Nowell Road, Thornton,
California.
-. Dear Mary;
This 'letter report 47xlates RESNA Industries' (RESNA's) activities at Tri-Valley Growers, j
Thornton, plant (Figure 1) during the fourth quarter of 1991. Activities during the quarter
included monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons_-Torn three monitoring
*yells or site, replacing carbon filter 1, operation and maintenance of the remediation system,
analysis of samples from the ireatment system influent (well MW-4) and carbon filter effluent. j
Remediation system operation began on May 13, 1991, a
Groundwater monitoring was conducted in October, November, and December. Groundwater
gradient-maps reflect a depression created by pumping of the groundwater in monitoring well
MW4 (Figures 2 through 4). The cone of depression around the pumping well and the area of
influence are demonstrated in these maps. The groundwater monitoring data is summarized in
Table 1.
r Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring walls 1, 3, and 6 on December 19, 1991
after stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature. The monitoring wells
Were purged.using dedicated submersible pumps: -Well purge logs are-inclinedin Attachment
1. Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and total
14*0 QM010692.sAY
