Testing of the effluent and influent
water will be in accordance with Tri Valley Growers' Waste
' Discharge Requirements.
Influent and effluent water (from both carbon filters) was
sampled at the end of the pump test. Xylenes were detected 'in
the sample of the effluent water of the second carbon filter
(TVGT EFF2C); however, xylenes were also detected in the trip
blank sample at nearly identical concentrations. Therefore, the
presence of xylenes in the effluent sample is believed to be
contamination introduced either during transport or in the
laboratory. Cross-contamination during sample collection is not
likely since the trip blank is prepared in the laboratory.
A summary of analytical data is presented in Table 1. A second
round of samples from 2C effluent water (TVGT EF'F2C) will be
collected and analyzed to confirm laboratory results. Laboratory
data sheets are included in Attachment 3.
The system is ready for continuous operation. Permission to
begin operations is requested from the Regional Water Quality
Control Board and San Joaquin Public Health Services.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Bill
Channell or Lois Frantz at (209) 838-3507.
Respectfully,
WaterWork
Bill Channell
Senior Geologist
Russell W.
