Activities this month included
monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from the treatment system ; -.-
influent (well MW4) and carbon filter effluent, and operation and maintenance of the
remediation system.
The remediation sy.cem operation, flow rate and drawdown was checked on October 10 and
October 18, 1991. The system is running and continues to pump at a rate of approximately 1.13
liters per minute.
Y
Groundwater monitoring was conducted on October 10 and October 18, 1991. Groundwater
gradient maps reflect a depression created by pumping of the groundwater in monitoring well
r 1ViW4 (Figures 2 and 3). T:1e cone of depression around the pumping well and the area of
influence are demonstrated in these maps. The groundwater monitoring data is summarized in
Table 1.
t
Influeni and effluent samples were collected on October 10, 1991. Samples were analyzed for
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPHG)and the gasoline constituents benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene;and xylenes(BTEX)by EPA methods 802018015: The sample collected from the ---
influent stream was also analyzed for total oil and grease by EPA method 5520 B&F.
Oil and grease was not reported at or above detection limits in the influent sample.
