Activities during the
pLU quarter included monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from the five
C13 ° a monitoring wells on site, operation and maintenance of the remediation system, analysis of
to
U o t I samples from the treatment system influent (well MW4) and carbon filter effluent (Figure 2).
LL 1t-L $ .2 z ' Remediation system operation began on May 13, 1991.
Z I • o } I
U Groundwater monitoring was conducted in July,August, and September. Groundwater gradient
E ,ti maps reflect a depression. created by pumping of the groundwater in monitoring well MW4
_ --- (Figures 2 through 4). The cone of depression around the pumping well and the area of
srlio , influence are demonstrated in these maps. The groundwater monitoring data is summarized in
dwoa
 Table 1.
LU
a o p
a $
m o ; o Groundwater samples were collected from five monitoring wells on September 12, 19' 1 after
U1- stabilization of pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature. The monitoring wells weretj
purged using dedicated submersible pumps. Well purge leas are included in Attachment 1.
o z
n ' Jf p
r I!
