IZF
Ml—
, die' NMI
B. monitoring well Installation
1• Prior to initiating any field activities, Underground
Service Alert (USA) will be contacted to locate underground
Utilities at the site.
2. one Boll boring will be drilled to a depth of 15 feet
below the water table to provide for Installation of a
groundwater monitoring well. Depth to water recorded on our may
1988 monitoring was approximately to feet below grade at the
site. Drilling will be conducted with a hollow stem auger drill
rig under a California C57 license, as required. To define the
lateral extent of potential groundwater contamination in the down
gradient direction, the monitoring well will be
gradient of the former tank pit and HW4, which is todown
contaminated (Figure 5) . The well will be constructed of two
Inch F400 PVC casing and completed as shown on Figure 6.
3• Soil samples will be collected during drilling at a
minimum of five foot intervals starting at five feet below grade
for field characterization. eca s the :soil cam n
fxoszpNi 9ocatecl ad acent to and'.8o i zed
t, not detect the resents of h Q _o. .t f e former _ an
e 'Pro o e oar n w e o s ro
0 rte s a er.. from
not to con uct laboratory testing on samplesuchcollectewe d from this
boxing unless field evidence by visual and olfactory Inspection
detects the presence of hydrocarbon contamination. Samples would
be analyzed for BTX and TPN by DOHS methodology.
9• Subsequent to Installation, the wellhead of the newly
installed monitoring well will be surveyed to the existing
wellhead elavation. Groundwater levels will be monitored In all
wells to determine depth and permit calculation of the gradient.
5• A water sample will be collected from the monitoring
well after purging a minimum of four well volumes (casing and
sand pack) . The purged water will remain on site, in secured 55
gallon drums, until laboratory results are received, if
necessary, a proposal for the disposal of the water produced
during well development will be prepared after reviewing the
sample results. water samples will be analyzed by a state
cewrtified laboratory--.for--BTX and...TVH...by-EPA-method-602.-- -
- ..
6. A brief report will be prepared summarizing the
findings of the investigation and recommendations for further
site characterization or remedial action, if appropriate. The
field Investigation will be conducted under the direct
supervision of Russell w. Juncal, a California registered
geologist (no. 3869) who will also review and sign the summary
report.
