Box 2009 PERIVII1Y VICL
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: 1992 First Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Activities/Remediation System
Performance Report, Tri-Valley Growers, 25200 Nowell Road, Thornton,
California.
Dear Maiy:
This letter report updates RESNA Industries' (RESNA's) activities at Tri-Valley Growers'
1 Thornton plant(Figure 1)during the first quarter of 1992. Activities during the quarter included
monitoring of groundwater, sampling for dissolved hydrocarbons from five monitoring wells on
site, operation and maintenance of the remediation system, analysis of samples from the
treatment system influent(well MW4)and carbon filter effluent. Remediation system operation
began. on May 13, 1991.
Groundwater monitoring was conducted in January, February, and twice hi March.
Grounewater gradient maps reflect a depression created by pumping of the groundwater in
monitoring well MW4 (Figures 2 through 5). The cone of depression around the pumping well
1:.., and the area of influence are demonstrated in these maps. The water table has risen
approximaiely three feet in March due to the rain recharging tha aquifer. The pumping rate has
been increased to pump the additional volume. The groundwater monitoring data is summarized
, in Table 1.
Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW1, MW2, MW3, MIW5 and
MW6 on March I2, 1992 after stabilization of pH,electrical conductivity(EC)and temperature.
The monitoring wells were purged using dedicated submersible pumps. Well purge logs are
-- -- -included in-Attachment-I. Samples were analyzed-for benzenes toluene*ethylbenzenei-xylenes-
to
QN1032792.SAY
Ga
