The well destruction
and disposal of the soil cuttings are the final steps in the closure of this case.
Previously SJCEHD had allowed the facility to dispose of the soil cuttings generated during the well installation on
s were taken and analyzed for a variety of contaminants. No
site. When the wells were installed soil sample
significant levels of contamination were detected in any of the three samples. Those sample results provide an
accurate reflection of the soil that was recently overbored during destruction of the three wells. The analytical
results are attached.
We request permission from the Department to dispose of these soils on site. A map of the proposed disposal
location is attached (this is the same location as last time). The three drums of soil will be spread across a soil fill
pile immediately east of the fence line, just outside of the gate near the end of the rail spur.
Please review the attached and if you agree it is appropriate to dispose of the soils as described above, please k
reply to this email with your approval.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Best regards, i
Kelley Spence I Regulatory Compliance Specialist I Legal Compliance Department
Universal Forest Products 12801 East Beltline NE I Grand Rapids, MI 49525
Phone:616.365.1522 1 Fax:616.364.55581 Mobile:616.540.3952
Please consider the impact on the environment beforerintin this
P 9 email.
C
i
G
i
i
v I
10/5/2009
