SOIL AND GROUNDWATER.SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
.AGE proposes to advance -five'soil probe borings using direct push technology to assess for
petroleum hydrocarbon- and/or MTBE.-impacted soil and/or ground water beneath the site. :The
proposed boring locations include: 1)three borings at.a distance of between 10 to 15 feet north, west
and south of the westemmostdispenserisland; 2) one boring-approximately-30 feet north of the
central'di sp en' ser island;and 3)one boring immediately north of the diesel UST.The'proposedprobe
boringlocations-are illustrated in Figure 2-,the proposed probe boring locationsmaybe modified due
to field observations.
The five probe borings will be advanced to approximately 30 feet bsg;however, the total boring
depth,to a maximum of 50 feet bsg;will be determined.by the-extent of any contamination detected -.
by field observations. As each boring is advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5400t intervals f
beginning at 5 feet bsg and extending to,the total probe bbririg depths.Grab groundwater samples
will be taken at first water in all five borings.Field procedures for advancement ofprobe borings and Y.
collection of soil and groundwater samples are presented.in Sections.4.T through 4.3.. _-
Ground r' ater and selected soil same_les from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory
analysis. The selected samples will be.analyzed by a State_of California Department.of Health
Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for..the following constituents:. _-
•.
