I
Advanced
GeoEnvironmentai Inc . . _.
26 July 2011
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0137 y "y
Ms. Vicki McCartney
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Well Destruction Work Plan
RIPON FARM SERVICE
932 East Frontage Road, South Highway 99, Ripon, California
Dear Ms. McCartney: 9
f
On behalf of RFS Land (Ripon Farm Service), Advanced Geb.Environmental, Inc. (AGE)
has prepared this work plan for the destruction of four on-site; two off-site ground water
monitoring wells and on-site remediation wells at 932 East Frontage Road, South Highway
99, Ripon, California(site). The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. Locations of
structures, borings and monitoring wells related to the site are`illustrated in Figure 2.
1! 9
On 14, 15 and 1,7 October 2003, five soil probe borings (CB-1 through CB-5) were
advanced at the site. Probe boring CB-1 was advanced aidjacent to monitoring well MW-1;
CB-2 was advanced adjacent to boring 154; boring CB-3 was', advanced between vapor
wells VW-1 and VW-11; boring CB-4 was advanced between baring B4,vapor wells VW-3, .
VW-1 and air-sparging well IAS1; and boring CB-5 was advanced adjacent to the north
property boundary, between well MW-2 and vapor well VW-7. Probe borings were
advanced to a total depth of 45 feet bsg; a grab ground water sample was collected from
each boring at 40 feet to 45 feet bsg, except at CB-3.
Soil samples were collected from the probe borings at 5-foot.'intervals, starting at 5 feet
below surface grade (bsg), using a Geoprobe soil sampling device. Confirmation borings
CB-1, CB-2, CB-4, and CB-5 were sampled for grounl6 wager. A total of thirty-six soil
samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline, diesel
(TPH-g, TPH-d) Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylene (BTEX), and Methyl tertiary
butyl ether(MTBE). Twenty soil samples were analyzed:'for the suite of five fuel additives
by EPA Method 8260 Modified. The following is a brief sumfmary of analytical results:
TPH-d were detected in soil samples CBI-20, CB2-20, .CB3-20, and C135-20 at
concentrations of 490 mg/kg, 1,300 mg/kg, 610 mg/kg; and ;'160 mg/kg. TPH-g, BTEX
compounds, and fuel additives were not detected in the'soil samples. Analytes were not
a detected in deep grab ground water samples CB1, CB2, . and CB5, collected from the
terminal depth of the confirmation soil borings. The hydrocarbon impact to appears to have
been appropriately mitigated.Site background informatio-n is provided in AGE prepared No
F FurtherAction Request (NFAR), dated 10 November 2009.
.i
937 Shari Road • Stockton,CA 95215
Telephone (209)467-1006 • Fax (209)407-1118
i
