' and air-sparging well IAS1, while boring CB-5 was advanced adjacent to the north property boundary,between well MW-2 and vapor well VW7.Probe borings were advanced to a total depth ' of 45 feet bsg and a grab ground water sample was collected from each boring at 40 to 45 feet bsg, except at CB3. Soil samples were collected from the probe borings at 5-foot intervals,starting at five feet bsg,using a Geoprobe soil sampling device. Confirmation borings CB 1,CB2,CB4 and CB5 were sampled for ground water. A Geoprobe water sampling assembly was advanced to a depth of 45 feet bsg, ' equipped with apre-cleaned,four-foot-by-one-inch outside diameter,temporarywell with 0.01-inch, slotted well screen was lowered to the bottom of the bore hole. Each ground water sample was extracted by lowering a modified Teflon tube bailer into the screen section of the temporary wells. ' After sample retrieval, the water samplers were disassembled and cleaned.New Teflon tubing was used to collect each sample. The water samples were collected in three laboratory-supplied, 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5 ml hydrochloric acid (18%) as sample preservative and in one 1-liter ' amber bottle without as ample preservative,accordingto EPA methods.Collected samples preserved -for laboratory analysis were placed in a chilled container under ice, and transported under chain-of- custody. Confirmation soil and grab ground water samples were analyzed for: •. TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, ' BTEX and the oxygenated fuel additives: MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, EDB and 1,2-DCA in accordance with EPA Method 8260. '. A total of thirty-six soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g, TPH-d,BTEX and MTBE. Only twenty . soil samples were analyzed for the suite of five fuel additives by EPA Method 8260 Modified. ' TPH-d was detected in soil samples CBI-20,CB2-20,CB3-20 and CB5-20 at concentrations of 490 mg/kg, 1,300 mg/kg, 610 mg/kg and 160 mg/kg. • TPH-g, BTEX compounds and fuel additives were not detected in the soil samples. 1 1 1 • Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
