INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' At the request of Mr Allan Fetters, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> report of environmental activities conducted at 22871 South Highway 99, Ripon, California (the <br /> site) The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 Structures and <br /> monitoring and remediation well locations associated with the site are depicted in Figure 2 <br /> This report documents the ipstallation and monitoring of a soil vapor extraction (SVE) vacuum <br /> blower from May to September 2003 (second and third quarters) and performance of the second <br /> quarter ground water monitoring event conducted on 14 and 16 May 2003, in anticipation of <br /> confirmation soil sampling in October 2003,AGE did not conduct the third quarter 2003 monitoring <br /> event Background information, including details of previous site assessment work,was presented <br /> in the AGE-prepared Corrective Action Plan, dated 01 June 1999 <br /> A Selleco catalytic-oxidation SVE unit has operated at the site from December 2000 to <br /> December 2002,during this period,the petroleum-hydrocarbon concentrations have declined to the <br /> point where utilizing the unit was no longer cost effective in terms of the remediation goals After <br /> r . notifying the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) by fax dated <br /> 04 December 2002, the catalytic SVE system was replaced with the SVE vacuum blower <br /> 2 0. PROCEDURES <br /> ' All field work was performed in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites Soil- <br /> vapor extraction and in-situ air sparging monitoring were preformed in accordance with procedures <br /> outlined in the Revised Remedial Action Work Plan Addendum and Remedial Action Work Plan, <br /> prepared by AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD)by letter, dated 21 April 2000 <br /> ' 21 SOIL-VAPOR EXTRACTION <br /> On 07 May 2003, a vacuum blower replaced the Selleco catalytic-oxidation SVE unit, a vapor <br /> ' knockout drum was placed in line before the vacuum blower to capture vapor condensate Soil vapor <br /> extracted by the vacuum blower was exhausted directly into the atmosphere <br /> ' The vacuum blower was monitored monthly during operation During each monitoring event, the <br /> SVE flow rate and concentrations of hydrocarbons in the extracted soil-vapor were measured and <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
